Research Senior Associate

Researcher 2:

Independently conducts assigned experiments, development using a variety of experimental techniques including molecular biology, genetics, microscopy, and biochemistry; performs flow cytometry, immunoblot assays, cytotoxicity assays, and enzyme linked immunosorbent assays; works with tissue culture mouse cell, organoids and patient tumor specimens. Performs routine experimental procedures on laboratory animals, including the performance of surgical procedures or administration of drugs by injection, gavage. Irradiates mice, treats mice with tamoxifen or antibiotics. Executes planned research activities using observation, measurement and analytical techniques; assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepares research progress reports; assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, grants, articles, posters, and abstracts; conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature. Supervises and trains undergraduate and new personnel on laboratory techniques, experimental design and ongoing projects.

Sets up experimental breeders, weans and genotypes when needed, updates inventories and lists of experimental mice. Assists in vet case handling, experimental designs, and breeding schematics.

Helps with lab orders, help check inventories, update IACUC, IBS, IRB and SOPs for the lab; submits requests for POs, onboards students and checks and updates lab records. Maintains and updates lab data back up and protocols.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree or equivalent experience required; PhD preferred. 4-5 years of relevant experience required. 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.

Salary Range:

$55,100.00 - 72,400.00 USD Annual
