Cafe Cook Coordinator

South Central College, a proud member of the Minnesota State System of Colleges and Universities, is currently seeking a seasonal full-time Cafe Cook Coordinator to serve college-wide, based on the North Mankato campus. The Coordinator is responsible for the daily food service operations of the SCC Café. This includes weekly and daily menu planning, food preparation and cooking, product ordering, inventory, and work direction to kitchen, cafe and student workers. The position will prepare and handle the food so that health and sanitation regulations and licensure standards are maintained. This individual will work each academic year from August through May.

Minimum qualifications include: one year of experience as a cook in a large restaurant, cafeteria, school, hospital, or equivalent experience in large volume cooking and food preparation; or completion of a 9-month or longer full-time vocational/technical school program in commercial cooking or commercial food preparation. (NOTE: Completion of a 9 month or longer vocational/technical school program in commercial baking will substitute for 6 months of experience as a cook, as listed above.) OR Three years of experience as a baker in a commercial bakery, large restaurant, cafeteria, school, hospital, or equivalent experience in large volume baking. Candidates must also possess a valid state of Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager certificate or be able to be certified within 14 days of employment.
