Evening PRN position within Patient Access-Telecom

Must have ability to work 5 or more shifts per month.

Shift times- weeknights 5/6pm-11pm, weekends- 7am-noon, noon-5pm, or 5pm-11pm.

On site at Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, MD

MUST BE ABLE TO TRAIN FOR 40 HOURS ON THE DAY SHIFT FOR THE FIRST WEEK AFTER HIRE.

Will handle switchboard and transfer calls accordingly.

Code alerts via intercom and paging

Must have good customer service skills

Education:

AA Degree preferred, HS diploma/GED required

Required Work Experience:

Two (2) years of related experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:




  • Requires a high level of clinical knowledge and regulatory standards
  • Two years of medical/health care office or call center experience required
  • Critical thinking and demonstrated leadership ability in order to address issues identified within the department
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with co-workers, patients, staff and insurance companies
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Keyboarding speed of 40 WPM
  • Knowledge of professional telephone etiquette and soft skills
