PAGE SHELVER - PUBLIC SERVICES
Part-time 20 Hours per week

Bring your detail to attention when you apply for this Page/Shelver position within the Library's Public Services department. The Library is seeking someone with a welcoming personality who is highly motivated and detail-oriented to shelve library materials and provide support in the Public Services department. The Library's Service Values guide our work and our commitment to serve everyone. Competitive 2024 starting salary is $12.53 per hour.

Schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings until 8:45 p.m., and weekends. Schedule flexibility is essential.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The individual in this position:

  • Organizes books to be re-shelved, sorts and shelves library materials, keeping the shelves in Dewey Decimal order
  • Checks in and straightens newspapers
  • Empties book returns, checks in library materials as needed
  • Assists with closing procedures


TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent or current enrollment in high school and 16 years of age; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability, and skills:

  • Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal system and the use of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, multitasking and prioritizing workload.
  • Skills in organizational proficiencies and time management.
