Job Summary
This is a Fall 2024 to Spring 2025 student internship position with the Auburn entrepreneurship team located in the New Venture Accelerator (Suite 101, Research and Innovation Center, 540 Devall Drive).

  • In support of the NVA's range of entrepreneurship offerings, assist in planning, promoting, administering, and managing pitch competitions, workshops, and community-based events.
  • Interact with students and faculty across all schools & colleges at Auburn University in order to raise awareness of the New Venture Accelerator and in turn garner greater participation in the current Auburn University entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Work with the following software packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Applications, InfoReady, OnBoard, and Artificial Intelligence content creation platforms.

Essential Functions
Key Responsibilities:

  • NOTE: This role is heavily weighted to graphic design related projects. This is a minimum requisite for job applicants. Graphic design skills are a job imperative.
  • Create and coordinate the production and distribution of promotional / collateral materials.
  • Provide support (graphic design & logistics) for all event related activities.
  • In conjunction with other student interns, provide marketing support for all 20+ startup businesses who are tenants of the New Venture Accelerator.
  • While not required, photography and videography skills are highly desired.
  • Help local community entrepreneurs start a new business and/or grow an existing business.
  • Assist with research and report preparation on entrepreneurial-related topics.
  • Support community businesses via the creation of marketing plans and tactical recommendations including the development of new collateral materials for their business, provide website redesign support, help create and populate social media platforms, and provide any other marketing & communication related support that these emerging new businesses require. In this position, the candidate will serve as the communication & marketing specialist for one or more specific business entities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled undergraduate student at Auburn University.
  • Knows and can apply the fundamental concepts of event marketing, promotion, and production.
  • Has significant working knowledge of the use of social media (Instagram, LinkedIn) and software tools utilized in management and production of events and the creation of event collateral.

Preferred Qualifications
Student in entrepreneurship or marketing.
Pay Rate $15.00/hour
