Description

Position Summary:

The person in this position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive trauma-informed care led program. This role involves coordinating with staff and external partners to ensure the program effectively addresses the needs of individuals served. The Program Director will lead efforts to create a safe, supportive, and rehabilitative environment.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Design, implement, and manage all aspects of the Red Tent Women's Initiative program.
  • Direct supervision of program specific staff.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and scheduling of all staff assigned.
  • Provide staff observation and supervision regularly.
  • Meet with staff and team on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Ensure the provision of appropriate services for individuals and groups.
  • Complete RTWI trauma-informed care curriculum training to include instruction of HeartMath or approved resiliency building researched based program within 12 months of hire.
  • Monitor the progress of program participants and adjust services as needed.
  • Develop and manage the program budget in collaboration with department leadership.
  • Monitor and track program expenditures to align with budgetary constraints.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and donations, to support program sustainability.
  • Prepare financial reports and documentation for stakeholders and funding agencies.
  • Ensure the allocation and utilization of resources to maximize program effectiveness.
  • Write and submit required reports and/or provide appropriate data for administrative and marketing needs.
  • Acts as WestCare representative/liaison with other agencies (Law Enforcement agencies; Court Facilities; Welfare agencies; Community Hospitals, etc.) regarding all client/service issues.
  • Attend regular professional education classes/workshops to continuously upgrade job skills or promote the image of the agency.
  • Respond to all emergencies that would necessitate Program Director's intervention.
  • Completes all orientation and mandated training activities, including E-Learning Courses, within required timeframes, and in accordance with the criteria established for this position.
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Certifications/Licensures:



  • Licensure as a LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the state of Florida is preferred at time of hire. Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently licensed.


Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited college or university with a major in management, social work, counseling, psychology, rehabilitation, special education, or related human services field.
  • Master's degree preferred.


Experience and Competencies:



  • 5 years of recent management or supervisory experience.
  • 5 years of recent experience in trauma informed services
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.
  • Maintains confidential files and records.
  • The ability to determine appropriateness and eligibility for consumers' admission.
  • The ability to evaluate the impact of substance use and mental health problems on the consumer's functioning in major life areas.
  • Knowledge of the inter-relationship among substance use, mental health, and primary care disorders.
  • Knowledge in the understanding and application of various counseling theories (e.g., behavior modification, motivational enhancement therapy, cognitive therapy, etc.).
  • Knowledge in the understanding of Motivational Interviewing; Motivational Enhancement Therapy; Comprehensive, Continuous Integrated System of Care (CCISC); and Trauma-Informed Care
  • The ability to identify crises when they surface; mitigate or resolve the immediate problem; and de-escalate the situation, including the ability to develop Safety Plans, as needed.
  • Ability to converse with consumers about addiction, risk factors, and medical care.
  • Knowledge and application of developmental theories
  • Knowledge and application of developmental psychopathology
  • Understanding of family dynamics, family roles, and family structure
  • Understanding and application of federal, state, local and agency confidentiality rules, and professional standards of conduct
  • The ability to interface and communicate with internal and external providers.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with members of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to organize, interpret and communicate data in a comprehensive and effective manner.
  • Knowledge in the understanding and application of time management and stress management.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize.
  • Understanding of professional ethics, consumer rights, and professional responsibilities
  • The ability to assess the individual's growth and development relative to normative development for his/her chronological age, including physical, emotional, cognitive, educational, and social development.
  • Ability to network with internal and external departments and agencies.
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and communicate data in a comprehensive and effective manner.
  • Understanding of issues related to cultural identity, ethnic background, age, developmental level, gender and sexual orientation in prevention, intervention, and treatment.
  • Understands that different cultural and ethnic groups have different perceptions of health, wellness, behavioral health, and preventive health services.
  • Demonstrates respect for individual's cultural and ethnic values when conducting assessments and providing services.
  • Understands that different cultures define and perceive family and its importance differently.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and populations.
  • Ability to use trauma informed care principles including ensuring consumer safety, preventing/avoiding re-traumatization, maximizing trustworthiness, enhancing consumer choice, maximizing collaboration, and emphasizing empowerment.
  • Ability to identify and describe key signs, symptoms, impact and manifestations of trauma.
  • Aware of the differences between trauma informed and trauma-specific services.
  • Understands the bidirectional relationships among substance use and mental disorders and trauma.
  • Understands the differences among various kinds of abuse and trauma, including: physical, emotional, and sexual abuse; domestic violence; experiences of war for both combat veterans and survivors of war; natural disasters; and community violence
  • Knowledge of WestCare Mission, goals and values
  • Knowledge of Incident Reporting
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Professional Ethics, Consumer Rights and Confidentiality
  • Familiarity with WestCare services and programs

  • During your tenure with WestCare, there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.


Working Conditions:



  • Work is performed primarily in a professional, office setting or jail system.
  • Regular attendance is required. Working overtime may be required and essential to perform job duties at times.
  • Some local and out-of-state travel.
