Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Hospital COO, CMO or designee, the Director of Laboratory Services is accountable for overseeing the management of the laboratory, assuring accurate and timely test analysis, maintaining and properly utilizing all resources, establishing and implementing sectional goals and policies, promoting competency of staff and students through education, and ensuring appropriate and timely orientation for new employees.
  • Applies knowledge and skills, professionally in daily performance of management activities.
  • Assists in the design, measurement, monitoring and implementation of programs to improve patient care within the hospital as measured by improved clinical outcome, improved efficiency of resource use and improved patient and physician satisfaction.
  • This position is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all administrative aspects of laboratory services and laboratory outreach departments in accordance with Ardent Health Services, regulatory agencies and hospital guidelines.
  • Responsible for the business development of the outreach laboratory function including product definition, product development, pricing, profitability, revenue growth, client and employee satisfaction.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science
  • OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with >8 years of experience in the clinical laboratory and >3 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Laboratory certification from an accredited laboratory certification program:
  • CLS, MLS, MT or equivalent
  • 3+ years' progressive leadership experience in the laboratory setting
  • 3+ years' management experience
