Description

General Summary:

Primary duty entails cleaning, preparing, masking and painting aerospace components from work instructions and completion of required documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Clean, prep and mask various sized parts for the aerospace industry to be ready for coatings
  • Setup HLVP/Pressure pot spray equipment and disassemble for cleaning
  • Operate fresh air respirator with use of all PPE
  • Perform inspections per the mil-spec & customer requirements
  • Cleanup, store and dispose of mask products
  • Operate various tools and equipment
  • Assist in the assembly of parts, flushing, deburr or support any departments as needed to maintain productivity across the plant.



Position Requirements

  • Masking aerospace components, which may include various types of masking for epoxies, resins, and chromate primers, dry film clear & top coats.
  • May include development of new processes or improving/reprocessing existing methods
  • Mixing various primers, paints, dry film lubes, and resins, per spec.
  • Preparing and masking a variety of surfaces including aluminum, ferrous/non-ferrous metals, coated metal, uncoated metal, finished hardware, accessories, fixtures, plates, and other surfaces as specified to protect and prime surfaces as appropriate. Applying finish coatings to mil-spec requirements
  • Repairing shop coats and applying coats of specified mask to parts, hardware and other similar equipment


Education & Experience Required:



  • Minimum 2 years' experience spray painting using HLVP/pressure pot equipment
  • HS diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3+ years related experience.
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Possess good mechanical aptitude and skill with assembly of mechanical components
