Description

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Credit Risk Manager directs the strategic management, oversight, and governance to analyze, identify, and monitor the company's loan review and compliance risk(s) related to lending activities. Responsible for ensuring a dynamic and risk-focused approach to the team's activity over conducting audits and examinations of the Bank's loan portfolio. The Credit Risk Manager participates in the development and recommendation of loan objectives, policies and practices.



  • Develops strategic credit risk assessments that determine the credit risk review plans; evaluates various models used loss forecasting, portfolio stress testing, market trends and other targeted analysis. Generates insight into reasons for performance deviation or anticipated credit trends for portfolio performance and market opportunities. Communicates any changes in trends (rating migration, delinquency, collateral, concentration, disruptors, KRIs, originations, etc.) to Senior Management
  • Assesses the effectiveness of the credit risk processes and standards to promote leading practices and identify opportunities for improvement. Advise Board of Directors and Executives of recommended changes
  • Manage current expected credit losses(CECL) for estimating allowances for credit losses on past due loans
  • Implements plans to keep ANBTX in compliance with its legal regulatory and contractual obligations
  • Serve as a regulatory liaison and works with various regulatory agents for assigned areas of the bank to ensure efficient and effective communication, coordination and cooperation. Assists General Counsel as requested on matters involving questions regarding the organization's compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Assess various rules, business processes, customer impacts, revenue impacts and risk exposure (new or existing regulatory initiatives) and presents business recommendations for developing, implementing and successfully integrating regulatory needs with overall business needs
  • Provides advice, guidance and loan services to loan officers including credit analysis, evaluation of financial statements and credit information and collections of overdue loans
  • Coordinate the dissemination of certain sections of loan policy, practices and procedures and ensures that deviations are corrected
  • May require work on physical bank premises


Qualifications:



  • 10-12 years of loan review, loan portfolio and quality control experience within a large, community, regional or national financial institution
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills with a working knowledge of bank related audit and compliance regulations and processes and procedure evaluation
  • 8+ years of managerial experience in planning, organizing and executing a credit risk program that measures, evaluates and identifies needed enhancements, policies procedures and controls to protect assets, prevent fraud, ensures regulatory compliance and maximizes operational efficiencies and profitability. Must be able to thoroughly analyze and make recommendations for complex credit and/or credit relationships on a independent basis. Highly proficient in all aspects of loan structuring of complex eight figure commercial, industrial, real estate and construction loans is essential. Understand residential, land development construction lending, secondary mortgage, supervision and inspection process of construction loans.
  • Preferred experience in conducting Regulatory Bank exams


Skills:



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic knowledge of calculator skills; must be able to do complex math and carry out complex written instructions
  • Travel to a variety of locations to perform work and/or attend meetings as required
  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs
