Position Overview

This role will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager. This position will primarily support the Fixed Asset and Capital Project functions of the company and work directly with divisional controllers as a resource related to these areas. Secondary duties include supporting the corporate accounting team on various reporting requirements and other special projects.



Responsibilities

    Reconcile and maintain accurate records on GBP fixed assets and capital projects in accordance with capital policy. Review and maintain policy for changes in accordance with regulations.
  • Assist in month end close activities related to fixed assets & capital projects.
  • Assist controllers with all fixed asset and capital project needs. Assist in large capital expansions.
  • Prepare monthly reporting requirements related to fixed assets & capital projects.
  • Assist with review and analysis of capital project spend including key performance metrics.
  • Reconcile and maintain an accurate general ledger in accordance with lease standards.
  • Prepare annual property tax returns and other regulatory filing requirements. Review and research tax changes as deemed necessary.
  • Prepare annual property insurance reviews. Update records in accordance with insurance changes.
  • Reconcile and maintain accurate records of GBP trailers.
  • Assists with yearend audit requests pertaining to fixed assets & capital projects.
  • Assists corporate accounting department with various reporting requirements.
  • Assist corporate accounting department with various projects within area.


Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required.
  • 3 - 5 years in corporate accounting or finance position.
    Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to positively interact with coworkers and other divisional accountants.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize.
