Job Summary:

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for evaluating the quality process and assisting with quality system development and the continuous support of quality product improvements.

What you will do:



  • Implement, maintain and improve quality standards in manufacturing and design processes to ensure the production and delivery of the highest quality product.
  • Ensure PPC processes are ISO compliant and maintained through proper documentation and training.
  • Take initiative to review and contain the customer complaints and championing corrective and preventive action processes to address the internal and external product/customer issues
  • Champion corrective action processes relative to internal and external product/customer complaints, and conducting experiments for root cause determination when necessary.
  • Lead the quality/engineering/production associates to identify the root causes
  • Review and make dispositions on suspect and rejected materials on the quality issues
  • Participate in the daily MRB meeting to review and address the issues
  • Lead process continuous improvement to drive the scrap reduction and efficiency improvement, monitor and improve the production throughput yield
  • Sustain and optimize the SPC system in the assembly process, applying thorough analysis to prevent the potential quality issues from happening
  • Perform PFMEAs on new and/or existing product designs, equipment, and processes to ensure a smooth start-up
  • Analyze and executes small projects independently.
  • Participate in new product design reviews
  • Participate in Kaizen events for improving current processes and reducing costs
  • Develop, Implement, and document quality processes and procedures to support new and existing manufacturing processes
  • Additional responsibilities include overseeing quality technician activity, developing in-process inspection criteria/instruction, specifying new gauge requirements, and leading quality improvement projects.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned


What you will bring:



  • Strong knowledge in process quality control, trouble shooting, CAPA and gauging system
  • Solid background in statistical process control (SPC), process capability evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Experience in process SPC system (Infinity QS) or similar system and/or SAP system is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills to effectively deal with individuals at all levels
  • Well-developed organization skills, including the ability to handle many details and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while upholding quality standards
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software
  • Ability to maintain good records in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment in a culturally diverse workplace



Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $81,900-$122,900plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
