This individual recruits and provides admissions process assistance to prospective students with an emphasis on campus visitors and non-traditional students. This position primarily operates on-campus, with limited travel

Essential Functions

  • Recruits and enrolls prospective transfer students by advising the students and parents over the phone, online, or in person to provide information about Auburn's admissions process, scholarship opportunities, academic programs and educational and extra-curricular opportunities.
  • Acts as the primary admissions advisor for prospective international students and non-traditional students, ensuring tailored support and guidance.
  • Cross-train to assist first year (FR), transfer (TR) and international (INTL) students.

    • Serves as the on-campus liaison for campus visit guests in the absence of their assigned Admissions Advisor.



  • Presents admissions information sessions to both freshman and transfer prospective students, assists with calls and email communication, walk-in appointments, and hosts student meetings.
  • Collaborates with others within the University by attending training opportunities throughout the year in order to ensure up-to-date information is provided to potential students.
  • Participates in the admissions process of students to include, but not limited to, reviewing applications and recommending students for admission.
  • Provides accurate and timely recruitment, expense, and purchasing reports.
  • Supports, assists, and implements on-campus and off-campus events to include, but are not limited to, prospective student programs , accepted student programs, and counselor programs.
  • Assists with achieving individual and overall University goals identified in the strategic plan.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Education, Communications, Marketing, Counseling, Public/Business Administration or related field.
Level I Bachelor's degree

Level II Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in public relations, marketing, recruiting, advising, and/or counseling.

Level III Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience in public relations, marketing, recruiting, advising, and/or counseling.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications

  • Must have effective written and verbal communication and human relations skills.

  • Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.

  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in advising, recruiting and/or counseling.
  • Undergraduate student recruitment experience in higher education and a successful record of working independently.
  • Able to speak publicly to small and large groups.

  • Experience in public relations, marketing, recruiting, advising, and/or counseling.
  • Experience providing high level of customer service in an academic environment.
