Adult Education Part-time ESL Faculty

Parkland College is currently seeking Part-Time Faculty to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the main campus on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. PT Faculty teach part-time, advise and mentor students. Salary is dependent on qualifications.

  • Copy of official transcript from the institution where you received your highest degree. If hired, certified official transcript is required.
Essential Job Functions
  • Ensure that instruction is of adequate rigor to support student ability to advance
  • Create and develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and individual learning plans aligned to appropriate Illinois Content Standards
  • Design instructional activities, select materials, and organize small group, whole group, or independent instruction
  • Establish instructional routine and classroom management policies.
  • Integrate technology and digital literacy into instruction
  • Monitor and assess student progress on a regular basis
  • Collect, record and report student information required for grant reporting
  • Complete all required student documentation forms.
  • Complete annual professional development requirements set forth by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Experience working with adult learners.
  • Experience managing multiple, interfacing systems is preferred.
  • Firm commitment to professional development and self-growth
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
