Finisher- 2nd shift

The Finishing System is a process designed to pre-treat metal (i.e., powder coat and liquid paint) to protect it from the environment. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Identify parts from blueprints to verify that they are properly tagged.
  • Have the ability to use simple material handling equipment such as powered walking stackers, storage trucks and pallet trucks.
  • Use simple measuring equipment such as tape measures.
  • Have the ability to learn proper grinding procedures to smooth welds and remove scratches from steel parts and enclosures.
  • Hanging of parts weighing up to 200 lbs. on an overhead conveyor using material handling equipment.
  • Reacting to system alarms and basic sanding procedures.
  • The work in this area is physically demanding and requires the ability to sustain a continuous work pace for extended periods.


To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:



  • A working knowledge of shop math.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures.


MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS



  • Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
  • Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
  • Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
  • Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
  • Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
