Do you have a technical mindset and a knack for customer service?

This opening is in our Kawneer office located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The Estimator I role is situated in the Non-Engineered division, and there will be no advanced technical experience required.

Estimating is a fantastic way to get started in the Construction industry. It gives employees a strong foundation in the terminology and processes for Drafting, Engineering, and other robust career fields.

Key Responsibilities



  • Prepares cost estimations for projects and construction plans using straightforward material cost breakdowns.
  • Provides exceptional customer service for Kawneer's clients.
  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

  • Experience in the customer service field
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment in a professional office setting
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines.


Basic Qualifications:



  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
  • 1 year of experience in a customer service role
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of building materials and/or the construction industry is a plus.
