The New Jersey State Police will be accepting online applications to become a State Trooper beginning Monday March 18th, 2024, through Wednesday May 3rd, 2024.  

Your Preparation starts now!

Although the process is just beginning, everyone interested in exploring these opportunities should immediately start preparation. Get a head start by learning the REQUIREMENTS and begin your personal physical training TODAY!

The starting salary for a trooper is $72,014. Second-year total compensation increases to $83,113.57. Top pay for a Trooper I is $152,943.00. All recruits receive $1,175.00 every two weeks. Room and board provided while training.

There are several phases of our selection process, including the application process and the physical qualification test (PQT), which occurs just a few weeks after the May 1st, 2024, application closeout date.

To properly prepare for and pass the PQT, your personal training should begin TODAY.
