Job Summary Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking to add a Business Systems Analyst Senior to the Student Information System (SIS) team. This role engages with customers to organize, develop and assess complex business and/or technical problems, defining system requirements and/or gaps in business processes, and troubleshooting customer issues. This position takes the lead in documenting critical functional specifications to meet the needs of MCCCD customers within the capabilities of the system. In addition, this position collaborates with key stakeholders to resolve issues, test new/updated functionality, and communicate the impact of updates and enhancements to the business units. This technology enables MCCCD to affordably deliver high-quality, timely, accessible, and informed service to all students. Essential Functions 40% - Leads efforts with college and district office customers to facilitate the successful execution of complex admissions, financial aid, student records and/or student financials business processes for the District; advises and guides decision-making 30% - Researches, analyzes, and coordinates resolution of complex system issues reported by users; performs complex, highly visible tasks within SIS to meet business needs 20% - Coordinates the development of specifications for system enhancement; serves as subject matter expert and at times technical lead for medium to large SIS projects 10% - Researches industry standards, trends and best practices and makes recommendations for implementation; performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field and four (4) years of business systems analysis experience including business process design, business requirements definition, workflow documentation and/or acceptance testing. OR Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field and six (6) years of business systems analysis experience including business process design, business requirements definition, workflow documentation and/or acceptance testing. OR High School Diploma/GED and eight (8) years of business systems analysis experience including business process design, business requirements definition, workflow documentation and/or acceptance testing. Desired Qualifications A. Experience working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions admissions, financial aid, student records or student financials modules B. Experience creating and executing test scripts C. Experience troubleshooting software issues and communicating resolutions D. Experience gathering business requirements and creating functional specifications E. Experience with PS Query or SQL Developer Special Working Conditions The position is located in Tempe, AZ, with occasional in-person meetings.
