  • Monitors students' academic progress. Seeks ways to connect with "at risk" students and identify (and provide, whenever possible) relevant supports/resources to increase the probability of their long-term success.
  • Participates in course level assessment and uses results as a monitoring tool for the continuous improvement of students' academic success; prepares assessment reports for the department Assessment Coordinator
  • Is available outside of class meeting time to assist individuals and small groups with their questions/concerns (e.g., before or after class office hours, via email, via video conferencing)
  • Works with course coordinator, lab staff and others teaching the same course to revise content, laboratory experiments/activities, instructional materials/technology, and pedagogical strategies to keep course current as well as improve student retention and achievement
  • Remains current with developments in biology through reading of professional journals, participation and/or presentations at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops, and/or other professional development activities.
  • Meets deadlines established by department and college including those related to student attendance and withdrawal and submission of official rosters and grades
  • Abides by district's Administrative Regulations, Federal, state and college policies.
