As an Senior Automation Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing custom web-based applications. The applications will be used by network personnel and a high-visibility department's management team within the Verizon network team. You will also be responsible for automation projects, data imports and other server-side scripts, system design (architecture), stakeholder management, researching and providing recommendations, on-call support. You will also be responsible for database administration with an analytics focus, your primary responsibility will be to manage and optimize our databases, ensuring their performance, integrity, and security. This will require you to perform tasks such as database installation, configuration, backup and recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Additionally you will play a crucial role in leveraging data analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from our data. You will support the NDAT team with system reporting, creating and maintaining database connections such as EDW and websites.

  • Utilizing strong leadership abilities, communication skills and an innovative mindset to partner with teams.

  • Analyzing data to ensure data integrity and utilize the data in decision making.

  • Onboarding new concepts, building framework and end to end development to include testing through production.

  • Creating an approach to problem-solving as well as a detailed understanding of coding.

  • Tracking usability goals and preparing reports for senior management.

  • Overseeing the development management, maintenance, and optimization of the NRB's databases, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance.

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting database-related issues, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive reports and data visualizations to provide insights.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop standardized reporting methodologies.

  • Contributing to the development of automated reporting tools and processes to streamline data analysis and reporting.

  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members, sharing technical expertise and promoting a culture of continuous learning.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Willingness to work a rotating schedule (shifts) including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business.

  • Strong expertise in database administration (DBA), including experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or similar database management systems.

  • Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation/querying languages.

  • Python programming language expertise

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Splunk.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or Economics.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science.

  • Project Management with knowledge of SAFE Agile Methodology.

  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems and applications.

  • Ability to learn, adapt, and convert code to a new language on a timely basis.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills to analyze complex solutions and problems.

  • Interpersonal skills with a commitment to quality and satisfaction.

  • Experience with large-scale IT systems.

  • Proven experience as a Senior Analyst or similar role in the telecommunications industry.

  • Experience in Smartsheets.
