What you will be doing

The Senior Director of New Business Development will be responsible for generating sales growth for AmerisourceBergen's BioPharma Services Group (BPS). This individual will identify opportunities which create value for our biopharma clients by leveraging solutions focused on patient access, affordability, consulting, field solutions and other related service lines. This role will be responsible to work cross functionally to support the development of integrated solutions as well as individual service line sales opportunities. This role is responsible for achieving financial targets across their portfolio which will include a mix of large, mid and small / emerging clients

  • Manages new business relationships and the oversight of all consultations with customers to create profitable business strategies through a consultative sales approach which focuses on creating solutions by leveraging BioPharma's wide range of solutions

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of client's goals and needs to enable the creation of solutions focused on maximizing brand performance through the coordination of AB resources

  • Develops a strong understanding of the value propositions for all BPS solutions and uses this knowledge to proactivity identify opportunities for sales growth within targeted clients

  • Responsible for managing and organizing the RFP, proposal defense and contract negotiations to secure new business

  • Works collaboratively with internal customers to define optimal solution for each business opportunity

  • Provides feedback, industry knowledge and specific recommendations to BPS Leadership on programs, products, prices and the competition

  • Regularly, monitors and analyzes pipeline reports and data which are used consistently throughout AB to target new business opportunities and develop strategies to insure continued success of that growth

  • Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, in order to meet sales objectives; must be willing to travel extensively

  • Performs related duties as assigned

What your background should look like

Requires completion of a four year bachelor's degree, preferably in business or a relevant medical discipline. Normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years related and progressively responsible experience within the healthcare /pharma industry

  • A strong level of experience and understanding of product commercialization needs through experience in brand or service companies

  • Demonstrated track record of success of growing sales in targeted accounts

  • Deep knowledge of, and practical experience in specialty products, service delivery, contracting and finances

  • Ability to learn and understand BPS service offering and operations

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of preparing plans, reports and disseminating information

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative business relationships, internally and externally

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and creative thinking skills

  • Ability to convert abstract ideas into actionable plans

  • Ability to accommodate at least 50% travel

$145,200 - 223,850

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
