Job Description

Helps develop work plans and schedules for the Maintenance group and implements them through directing the various mechanical crafts. Ensures that all safety and environmental regulations are followed by all personnel. Responsible for training and utilizing applicable SDP's Safety/Health procedures, and all state and federal regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Schedules and supervises assigned maintenance personnel to ensure timely effective, efficient repairs and maintenance.

  2. Ensure necessary training is completed for assigned personnel.

  3. Ensures that all applicable safety and environmental regulations are followed during the performance of all job tasks.

  4. Assigns workload and distributes assigned personnel to daily scheduled jobs, routine work, and shutdown activities as required.

  5. Assists in coordinating and supervising contract job activities.

  6. Provides technical support and troubleshooting activities as required.

  7. Responsible for maintaining accurate work order information and labor man-hours to update equipment histories and the computer maintenance management system.

  8. Interface with other departments regarding job priorities and emergency work order activities.

  9. Assists with identifying, planning, and implementing preventative maintenance requirements.

  10. Assists with equipment failure analysis.

  11. Assists with identifying spare parts inventory requirements.

  12. Administer personnel policy/procedures to include corrective actions, grievances, time keeping and attendance.

  13. Responsible for compliance with state and federal labor laws within area of responsibility including meeting Affirmative Action Program goals and conducting all personnel actions in a non-discriminatory manner.

  14. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Technical vocational training or college training in a mechanical technology program preferred.

  • Prior heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience of 10 years preferred.

  • Prior supervisory experience of 5 years preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong team player

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines

  • Strong customer orientation

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

  • 24-hour HAZWOPER Certification
