Engineering Co-op / Intern, Spring 2024 (Natural Gas Distribution)

Purpose

This position will provide the Co-op / intern with broad exposure to utility engineering process and procedure. In this position, you will be immersed in the design engineering function, but you will also collaborate with operations and construction departments to understand Liberty's full-cycle project workflows. You will aid the engineering team in the development of natural gas system improvements, and new business projects. You will assist in the development of project documentation such as project cost estimates, material lists, labor estimates, project mapping, project procedures, and job orders. The position may coordinate with various internal groups and external agencies to accomplish goals.

Accountabilities

* This position works on a variety of engineering and project coordination assignments.

* Solves problems using a combination of standard or modified procedures and participates in planning objectives.

* Following training, may perform independent feasibility studies, analyze and interpret data, to draw conclusions, and/or propose alternatives.

* Will make well formulated plans, where necessary, related to engineering and design of gas distribution system facilities to meet Federal and State regulations, Company Policies, customer needs, system reliability and safety, growth demands.

* As required, may communicate with Town, City and State clerks to obtain permits.

Education and Experience

Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline (Mechanical/Civil/Structural/Chemical/Related)
