**This full-time summer intern position will be available starting in Summer 2023**

Opportunities are available in the following areas depending on interest and abilities:



  • Medicare and Retirement Insurance Solutions Division - Finance Department cross-functional support (local - hybrid)


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Support client pricing process (e.g., prepare expense allocations by product and enrollment projection schedules)
  • Assist FP&A team with Cost/Benefit analysis process and monthly close expense variance analysis and reclasses
  • Participate in monthly business expense review meetings to update reforecast assumptions
  • Assist Agent Distribution Finance team with Annual Enrollment Period readiness (e.g., preparing agent commission analysis and schedules for meetings)
  • QA monthly client contractual report to identify and resolve any potential narrative and related metrics discrepancies
  • Data mining from BI Tools to analyze and document correlated patterns to help inform quality of business initiatives
  • Assist with Ad-hoc requests, as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance (or related) from an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation


Preferred Qualifcations:



  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Ability to work both independently and across various teams
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
