SOFTWARE ENGINEER
3, CENTER FOR DIABETES TECHNOLOGY (UVA). The University of Virginia, Center for Diabetes Technology in Charlottesville, Virginia seeks a Software Engineer 3. Job duties: Produce and maintain Center for Diabetes Technology (CDT) department applications to accomplish business needs. Manage medium-complexity development projects start to finish. Responsible for planning, analysis, design, engineering, and development. Distinguished from Software Engineer 2 by fully developed technical skills and beginning acquisition of advanced skills, longer-term, non-routine, more complex assignments; latitude to apply skills to solve most problems without review, and latitude to devise the approach and method to performing assignments. Assist senior staff in developing approaches to problem-solving and anticipating issues. Assist in training, serving as a resource, and providing guidance to Software Engineer 1 and 2 employees in the CDT on non-routine problems, work processes, and policies. Interactions include fellow team members; coordinating team members; assigned student, faculty, and/or staff clients; and external vendors or service providers. Qualified applicants will possess a master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or discipline and 36 months' experience.
