Space Domain Embedded Software Developer

The Opportunity:

As an Embedded Software Engineer for Space Systems, you are pivotal to the development of embedded applications that are used in the day-to-day operation of automated space system. You help keep the space system working in all ways that are important to a space device - handling thermal management, keeping the power on, pointing the space system in the right direction in space and around the earth, and making sure everything is running smoothly. On our team, you will do just that for our space systems clients and their development satellite systems. You will sit shoulder to shoulder with our collective team and aiding them in the development and deployment of embedded applications that work together to support an important mission in an emerging mission area for space. We're looking for someone like you to support the technology that supports space superiority.

In this role, you will have an immediate operational impact from day one. Supporting a team of experts, you will develop, build, and implement embedded applications and support software that manage an entire space vehicle. You will use programming and scripting languages, including Bash, csh, C, C++, or assembly, such as ARM or i386, to assist the team as they continuously enhance and maintain the spacecraft and its operations, troubleshoot any issue that arises, and upgrade or enhance the system to more effectively meet mission requirements. Most importantly, you will bring innovative ideas and build your skills as one of the team's experts on space systems and space software through the development and provisioning of these systems, their build-out, testing, launch, on-orbit testing, mission performance, and ultimate de-commissioning. You will gain new appreciation of this new space mission and help build the foundation of a knowledge base to benefit future missions and programs. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.
