Support the Senior Division Counsel, Denver, in the EOG Legal Department in overall administrative matters related to Department functions, with a specific emphasis on transactional and contract matters
Job Duties
Work as a team player with other department assistants and paralegals to maintain databases related to contract management and administration and corporate transactions
Prepare, format and stylize PowerPoint presentations to assist in internal and external reporting on Legal matters based on input from the Senior Division Counsel
Process invoices
Participate in team working on varied, complex, and highly confidential legal and corporate work
Acknowledge correspondence, initiate inquiries, secure information, review, analyze and summarize documents and information
Prepare correspondence, reports and spreadsheets based on input from the Senior Division Counsel and other Legal Department attorneys
Review drafts of correspondence, transactional documents and contracts and other documents for accuracy, summarizing variances for evaluation by the Senior Division Counsel
Organize, categorize, index, and maintain documents, materials, and files as necessary
Coordinate the collection and organization of Company and third-party documents and information in connection with business transactions, as well as monitor and communicate critical dates
Assist in coordination of Division workflow and transactional matters with the Senior Division Counsel to ensure compliance with internal controls and consistency in handling of overall management of contracts and other transactional matters
Support Senior Division Counsel and Senior Litigation Counsel on management of disputes and litigation arising out of Division matters. Work closely with Senior Litigation Paralegal on this support function.
Coordinate meetings, schedules and travel arrangements and perform other administrative duties

Provide other legal and administrative support as required including matters related to Legal Department SharePoint site, contract management and other computer software programs supporting the overall department function
Be creative and innovating in optimizing processes and increasing efficiencies within the department
Be resourceful in accomplishing work tasks and obtaining needed information
Acquire a basic understanding of EOG's business, including proficiency in the functions of the department


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Basic Qualifications
7 years minimum executive/administrative support experience
Associates or Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certification preferred
Notary public certification, or willingness to become a Notary
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, MSTeams, Excel, and PowerPoint, and email and willingness to learn other software applications
Project Management experience
Skills Required
Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills; interacts with others in a courteous, helpful and professional manner
A team player who works effectively with others at all levels and in all disciplines in a team environment and is able to maintain a sense of camaraderie in working with others
Flexibility in dealing with changing work assignments and priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to proof-read, review and revise executive-level documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information
Willingness to learn and support Legal Department SharePoint site and other computer software programs related to the Legal Department function
Experience coordinating meetings, schedules and travel arrangements
Preferred experience or Knowledge
Law firm or legal experience helpful
Oil and gas experience, particularly with land transactions
Experience with MS Teams
Ability to work with varied software applications, internally developed EOG software
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience
