Associate Director, Supply Chain Planning

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Associate Director has broad external influence within established global supply networks and will foster interdisciplinary understanding and integrate activities both within and outside the Supply Chain organization. The Associate Director will contribute to the strategic decisions related to the pipeline products as they progress through development and into Commercial. The Associate Director sets the standards for work within their function and has responsibility for the development of group goals, resource plans and is aware of the budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for communicating the strategy of development projects to Supply Chain Senior Leadership
  • Effectively collaborates with Pharmaceutical Sciences on development program objective while representing the interests of Commercial Supply Chain
  • Assists in the creation of department goals
  • Collaborates with Finance to develop a budgeting process for the function
  • Responsible for developing future end to end commercial forecast using demand planning information
  • Partners with Pharmaceutical Sciences and Strategic Sourcing on the supplier selection process and communicates those decisions to Supply Chain Senior Leadership
  • Presents overall group strategy and high-level Supply Chain issues
  • Key contributor to multi-year supply agreement negotiations
  • Primary owner of group business processes including designing, drafting, reviewing and approving standard operating procedures for group activities
  • May directly supervise one or more individuals and may contribute to hiring plan with senior management
  • Assists in the determination of resource requirements for projects
  • Motivates staff and works to resolve conflicts in a positive manner
  • Takes full responsibility within scope of the position and/or materials or projects managed to work with various cross-functional groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Commercial Planning, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may be obstacles to decision making
  • Performs other duties as assigned


TECHNICAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:



  • Has emerging competence in a supervisory role
  • Able to contribute to complex contract negotiations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness
  • Possesses a distinguished record of delivering on critical project goals and moving projects forward
  • Exhibits a robust knowledge across supply chain disciplines
  • Strong knowledge in overall drug development
  • Experience with ERP and planning engine software as well as Microsoft Software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrates strong aptitude for motivating others and building team unity
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written/oral ) with all levels of the company
  • Displays strong commitment to the company's core values


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific of Business discipline


  • 8-10 Years industry experience with increasing scope and responsibility
