KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Global Independence Group to join our our Global Quality Risk Management organization which is a part of KPMG International.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of the financial interests' regulatory requirements under both the IESBA and SEC independence regimes
  • Support the GIG application lead for KICS* reporting system, including supporting the GIG team on the deployment of new KICS enhancements and modules (including a mobile app)
  • Help with the oversight of member firm's KICS accounts and related processes
  • Assist with inquiries raised by member firms regarding the application of personal and firm independence rules, policies and procedures
  • Participate in the evaluation and maintenance of existing and development of new personal and firm financial relationship independence policies, procedures and guidance
  • Engage in a global "hackathon" to develop, roll out and maintain a personal independence on-line tool and app for use by all KPMG member firms and personnel

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of recent experience in Independence, Compliance, Risk or other Business type role
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or experience
  • Organizational skills with keen attention to details and documentation standards
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in a way that retains the underlying meaning but is understandable for non-independence experts
  • Skilled with technology such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of programming and/or UI design skills is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; self-motivated with a willingness to learn and apply new information
