We are currently looking for a Therapist II to join our emergency services team that provides essential crisis interventions services to the community.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The role of a Therapist II in emergency services is to assess risk and connect persons in crisis to the appropriate level of care. Therapist IIs provide crisis intervention services with the goal of helping the person in crisis experience improvement in overall mental health.

Provides the following:


  • Provides emergency mental health intervention services in a 24/7 program

  • Conducts screening interviews and makes recommendations for level of care

  • Provides outreach, assessment, linkage to and coordination with other service providers

  • Provides crisis intervention for clients, including those at high risk for suicide/homicide-under supervisory guidance, evaluates risk and potential need for hospitalization

  • Develops and implements risk management plans

  • Maintains records according to agency's policies and procedures, prepares reports

  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and professional development activities

  • Prepares and presents case presentations for clinical supervision


PREFERENCES : the successful candidate will have ...



  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field

  • 1 -2 years of experience providing clinical services to seriously mentally ill adults

  • Licensed or certified resident for LCSW or LPC in the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Preference will be given to the candidate with experience working in a 24/7 program, experience with preadmission assessments, conducting risk assessment.


SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to respond to Manassas or Woodbridge from home within 1 hour

M ultiple shifts will be filled from this posting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must possess a valid driver's license, must pass DMV record check
  • Must pass a TB test

  • Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain certifications in First Aid and Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation, as required

ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $66,742 - $82,560 Annually
