Job Description and Requirements

Synopsys, Software Integrity Group, is named a leader for 2021 in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing (AST), in recognition of our vision and ability to execute. Security and risk management leaders will need to meet tighter deadlines and test more-complex applications by integrating and automating AST in the software life cycle eliminating risk before it puts them at risk. Every business runs on software, and defects in software create risk. We've curated the most powerful products and services to create one comprehensive platform that enables our customers to detect and remediate defects across their entire SDLC. UX Research Lead

We're looking for a UX Research Lead who is ready to take our team to the next level. Working with the UX Director, you will build up a world class research practice here at SIG (Software Integrity Group). We are one of the world's largest software companies, designing software that is integral to keeping our digital selves safe. This is interesting, important research with a lot of greenfield.

Responsibilities

  • Increase and advocate the value of UX for our products across the organization.
  • Plan and conduct various UX research and testing methods, both generative and evaluative (e.g. moderated and unmoderated usability testing, persona development, user flows, journey mapping, surveys) and compile results and data.
  • Connect research findings from multiple projects/sources and provide insights to help us define and solve problems, deepening the understanding of our users.
  • Distill complex problems into insights that inform design, development, and business decisions.
  • Develop actionable insights to inform strategic direction and UX design of digital products.
  • Build out and document all user research processes and make recommendations on additional tools and systems.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure that all user research is aligned with business goals.
  • Plan, build, conduct and present research results to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Help build the foundation for capturing user experience metrics.
  • Develop research strategies and proposals and execute on time and on budget.
  • Continuously incorporate customer research findings and feedback into the design teams concepts.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors or equivalent experience. Masters' degree in related field is preferred.
  • 7+ years of user experience research with multifaceted responsibilities. Mix of experience using qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Background in security is ideal, but not necessary. A passion for creating solutions in complex systems, however, is a must.
  • Ability to drive multiple initiatives of varying complexity with minimal guidance.
  • Empathetic + Fun: You're well-versed in user-centered methodologies and design thinking. You keep the user front and center...and you're fun to work with.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills required. Your ability to demonstrate success in these areas should quickly become obvious.
  • Can learn quickly and autonomously in a distributed, complex technical environment.
  • Ability to lead a team of UX research professionals and progressively mature their skills set, while also working independently is imperative.
Inclusion and Diversity are important to us. Synopsys considers all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, military veteran status, or disability.
