UX Design Lead

This is a big role. Guiding design for a quick moving, constantly evolving lynchpin SaaS product that is about to change the industry. You are the missing piece to a maturing crew of designers who are looking forward to having a strong partner to design with. We are designing important solutions, integral to keeping our digital selves safe - at one of the world's largest software companies. This is interesting, important work with a fun, remote team at a great company.

Responsibilities

  • Increase and advocate the value of UX for our products across the organization.
  • Continuously incorporate customer research findings and feedback into design concepts.
  • Understand technical and business constraints and scale designs for iterative release, ensuring user needs are met at each step.
  • Collaborate with product owners and architects globally to develop realistic product plans and releases that properly prioritize, scope and plan for UX design and implementation.
  • Partner with development teams for translating the design concepts into successful implementation and judiciously negotiate any tradeoffs involved.
  • Responsible for leading the development of wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, and other UX artifacts.
  • Communicate design decisions, rationale, and direction when sharing work.
  • Identify and suggest solutions for resolving technical and creative issues.
  • Identify process improvements to continuously improve quality and workflow.
  • Driving UX strategies and approaches that balance business objectives with customer needs.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of UX Designers.
Qualifications
  • Formal education in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science - or related field experience.
  • 7+ years of UX design working with agile product teams; corporate B2B experience preferred.
  • Background in security is ideal, but not necessary. A passion for creating solutions in complex systems, however, is a must.
  • You can go Broad + Deep: You love talking complex problems and solutions. You think strategically about any design challenge and seek to create holistic, compelling products that serve the end user.
  • Empathetic + Fun: You're well-versed in user-centered methodologies and design thinking. You keep the user front and center...and you're fun to work with.
  • Delivery + Communication: You have excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills. You can turn the ambiguous into a head turning, compelling story.
  • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and autonomously in a distributed, complex technical environment.
  • Experience in using design / prototyping tools is required. Ability to create interactive design prototypes using tools such as Sketch, Balsamiq, Figma.
